Since reform and opening, population flow in large scale with change of economicand social management system has produced wide and profound effect on economy,society and politics in urban and rural. This population flow shows unique non-family andnon-settled features and arise the phenomenon of “shortage of rural workers” whichtraditional theoretical model cannot explain. This thesis believes that it has tight connectionwith household-registration and associated system that has been pursued in China for along time. Developing the research of Chinese population flow model being bounded byhousehold-registration system and corresponding policy suggestions can not only improvethe traditional economics-dominant population flow model but also have strong realisticmeaning to further promoting the deep reform in Chinese economy and society.In this thesis, the advantages and disadvantages of current research achievements isfirstly analyzed by the meaning of literature investigation. Then the secondary correctionthat considering the Chinese special nation conditions and main elements ofhousehold-registration system is done on the basis of traditional model. The newintergenerational family Todaro model feature on household-registration bounding factor isderived mathematically and verified by empirical analysis. Finally policy suggestions onmany aspects such as rural land system, urban and rural harmonious social security systemand education system is proposed based on the new model.
