| In the 21 st century, with the rapid development of society and economy, the environmental problems, such as heavy haze, sandstorm, vegetation reduction and deglaciation are becoming increasingly serious, which will threaten the existence and development of human beings. The subject Environmental Education arises with the cause of environmental protection and develops as it goes. Environmental Education as a new field and a new idea receives wide attention from domestic and foreign scholars and also has become a research topic.Foreign scholars have made valuable research of Environmental Education in secondary school on course setting, laws and policies and teacher training and so on. Our native professionals have explored how to carry out Environmental Education in high school geography teaching from the respective of teaching contents and teaching method. First, taking Meng Cun Hui Min high school as example, the writer of this thesis designed questionnaire to learn about the environmental awareness of Senior One students so as to pave the way for Environmental Education. Second, through the analysis of geography textbooks of senior high school, including Geography Compulsory One, Geography Compulsory Two, Geography Compulsory Three and Geography Elective Four, the writer has summarized the teaching contents and key points involved. In the meanwhile, typical cases are summed up from teaching contents and teaching practice. Last but not least, this thesis has explored five effective strategies of Environmental Education in class practice and case implementation: 1. create and assume situation to experience real environment; 2. design questions subtly to improve environmental skills; 3. experience in person to strengthen environmental awareness; 4. change forms to explore environmental method; 5. collect various information to broaden the horizon. This thesis aims at offering help to teachers who are preparing and teaching Environmental Education as well as enhancing students’ sense of environmental urgency so as to improve students’ skills of understanding and solving environmental problems. |
