Chinese traditional culture is excellent and profound. It has experienced thousands of years of social changes, and its unique charm and value still remain. The ideological and political education in colleges and universities provides directions to improve and guarantee college students’ ideological and moral quality. It plays the fundamental functions in guiding the students’ thoughts and setting up the correct outlook on life and values. However, at present our country’s ideological and political education situation is worrying, there are many problems. Therefore, play the value of the ideological and political education in Chinese traditional culture in colleges and universities, and explore the effective way of the combination, it is to excavate the value of China’s outstanding traditional culture, to carry forward Chinese excellent traditional culture, to enrich the connotation of ideological and political education, to improve the influence of ideological and political education, to set up the college students’ socialist core values, and to lay a foundation for building a harmonious civilized society.
