Identity fusion and extreme group actions have been treated increasingly important by researchers recently. Based on reviews of researches, this study adds identity status to test identity fusion and extreme pro-group action on different status in Chinese society via questionnaire studies. It also tests that perceptions of agency and invulnerability may media the effects of fusion on endorsement of pro-group actions. At last, by comparing fusion differences between city and nation (extended group), it establishes the prediction model of fusion from city to nation.Participants were sampled from two universities in Shanghai (N=399, M=20.01, SD=1.22). Birthplace, hukou and house-purchasing were used to distinguish different identity status. Three results were observed.1. Identity fusion and extreme pro-group actions showed differences on different identity status. Specifically, participants born in Shanghai or having Shanghai hukou or having purchased house in Shanghai showed higher identity fusion and were more willing to sacrifice for city.2. The study showed identity fusion was the most important evaluation to extreme pro-group actions. Agency and invulnerability mediated identity fusion and group action for city. The mediation didn’t show up in nation fusion.3. Identity fusion on extended group showed differences. Specifically, high in fusion for city, low in fusion for nation. Identity fusion and extreme pro-group actions for city were two important evaluations to identity fusion and extreme pro-group actions for nation..
