Compulsory education curriculum standard(the 2011 Edition) points out that the basic characteristics of Chinese course is the unity of "instrumental and humanism". The Chinese course is a practical course. It should focus on cultivating the students’ language practical ability, and requires attention to students’ reading, writing, oral communication, practices of collecting and processing information, and strengthen the Chinese practice opportunity to cultivate the students’ language competence.The tool mainly refers to the Chinese language course is an important foundation for the transmission of information, communication, is the basic premise of other courses learning.To define the connotation of Chinese practical ability and research on the present situation of Chinese teaching, can further made the teachers, the students, the education workers and the parents pay much attention to Chinese practical ability, is conducive to correctly grasp the current level of the students’ Chinese ability, and provide the basis for further promoting the reform of Chinese teaching.The study gathered data from two junior high schools in Chongqing by questionnaire survey、interviews and indirect observation, which including the present lever, the willingness of Chinese practical ability,and participate in the activities status. Analysis the data from literacy, reading, writing, oral communication and comprehensive learning, etc.. We try to understand the current level and characteristics of students’ Chinese practical ability, and puts forward the corresponding suggestion, in order to further improve the efficiency of Chinese teaching and enhance the level of students’ Chinese practice for your reference.This thesis is mainly divided into five parts.The first part introduces the background and the significance of this topic, and summarizes the results of previous studies, defines the core concepts.The second part is the research design, including the subjects and the methods of the study, and tested the reliability and validity of research tools.The third part analyzes the present situation of students’ Chinese practical ability from the overall level, differences between urban and rural, the gender, and the grades differences, etc, which combined with data form questionnaire survey, interviews, indirectly observation. And summed up the characteristics of students’ Chinese learning ability development, and pointed out some deficiency in the development of the present situation.The fourth part puts forward some measures to improve junior high school students’ ability, including guiding students to form a correct concept of language practice and respect the students subjectivity in Chinese practice, integrate the reasonable Chinese practice contents, promote the exchanges and communication between urban and rural areas, pay attention to the Chinese practice strategy and so on five aspects.The fifth part summarizes the research briefly.
