Investigation Study On Sign Language Interpreter Requirements And Service Present Situation For China’s Deaf Community

This research in the form of questionnaire and interview of the deaf community in several cities in China, and has carried on the corresponding study sign language interpreters practitioners, during the process of investigation, statistical analysis. The current deaf people of China in the daily life of the sign language interpreter in all aspects of the needs and requirements, also to a baseline survey on the present situation of Chinese sign language interpreter. Through to the deaf people in the life all kinds of occasions such as classroom learning, train station, hospital because of the lack of corresponding bank handle affairs, they meet the communication barriers caused by sign language interpreters services, and then put forward and discussed based on the demand of the deaf sign language interpreters strategies to improving the quality of sign language translation service, solve the long-standing lack of sign language translation service in China, and as a sign language interpreter gestures to Chinese translation and let the deaf groups don’t understand the embarrassing situation, for building a harmonious socialist society of China and barrier-free communication environment to provide constructive Suggestions.In this study the deaf sign language translation needs problems draws the following conclusion:1. Sign language promotion, little talent learning sign language. In the society without corresponding provide sign language translation services, the deaf community in need of translation services don’t know where to seek the service.2. The serious lack of sign language translation services in public places. Such as railway stations, hospitals, Banks and other places are in urgent need of sign language translation service to help the deaf community to solve the ticket problem such as difficult, see a doctor difficult, difficult.3. The sign language translation standard can’t meet the needs of the deaf community. Most people listen to Chinese sign language interpreter USES gestures rather than natural sign language translation, especially the public media, such as in TV news this sign language translation service.
