S Educational Group is a leading brand of individualized education formiddle school and primary school students.S Educational Group has won thecustomers’ trust with its customer-oriented management and has become oneof the largest educational chain organizations nationwide. S EducationalGroup wishes to become the most respected high-end chain educationalgroup.Teaching quality is the key to the success of extra-curriculum educationorganizations. Teachers directly determine the teaching quality.S EducationalGroup is faced with high quit rate which prevents the teaching quality fromfurther enhancement. S Educational Group needs to know the competencyfeatures of one-to-one teachers and improve daily management, thuslowering the quit rate and improving the teaching quality. This thesis focuses on the competency model for one-to-one full-timeteachers in S Educational Group. By means of interviews with teachers,management personnels and customers, new competency features arecollected apart from basic competency features. Questionnaires are designedto know the importance sequence and the competency model is formedaccording to the questionnaire result.The model highlights the “professional quality”,“teaching capacities”,“students caring” and “marketing ability” sections for teachers, especially“marketing ability” which is not required from traditional teachers. Themodel will be beneficial to recruiting, training, performance evaluation andcareer development for teachers in S Educational Group.
