With the development of science and technology, educational technology has got a big improvement.Multimedia approach has made a great progress in the field of teaching, especially in the field of Physicsteaching. As a result, traditional Physics teaching model is confronted with new challenges not only ineducation thoughts but also in teaching principles.In order to have a better understanding about the application of multimedia approach in Physicsteaching in high schools, this essay sampled ten high schools in different counties and districts in Xinyangand has got the result by interviewing and making questionnaires to the students and teachers there. Itpoints out that the application of multimedia approach in Physics teaching in Xinyang started early and theapproach has been widely used in high schools, welcomed by most students and teachers. However, thereare still some inadequacies, such as deficient equipment, rare courseware and educational resources,negative influence caused by too much teaching task and the prejudice of a few teachers.This essay bases on the combining of modern education theory, the application of educationalinformatization, development psychology and practical research. It gives individualized advice to theproblems after investigating and analyzing the present situation. It is helpful of the essay to offer areference to the development of the application of multimedia approach in Physics teaching in high schoolsin Xinyang.
