Symbolized by multimedia and the Internet, contemporary information technology has been changing people's way of living and learning at an amazing speed. The development of multimedia-aided teaching has brought great convenience to physics teaching in middle school, which closely connected the physical theories in the stage of middle school education with the up-to-date information of physics so as to enormously enrich the content of physics classes, raise the efficiency and oplimize the course of teaching. This development is bound to result in the revolution in educational thought and concepts, educational system, the content of teaching, the form of teaching materials, teaching methods and modes etc.The application of multimedia-aided teaching is certain to flourish, but the road is rocky and flexuous. Since the application came into being, experts all over the world have been actively researched into its advantages and disadvantages. A variety of conclusions were drawn through these researches. However, most of them seem to lack system. Therefore, in this dissertation the author tried to induce the problems related to multimedia-aided teaching and find the practical solutions to these problems based on the researches the experts have done. After making a brief description of the development and tendency of multimedia-aided teaching, the dissertation has pointed out the problems existing in our country, and at the same time, from both the positive and negative side, made a summary through consulting the related literature, which involved the multimedia-aided teaching itself as well as its remarkable functions and prominent advantages.
