We used the evaluation method of ECERS-R to measure the motor environment. The study adapted the MOT4-6that is widely used to measure children’s motor abilities, and selected three areas in Zhejiang Province to measure motor abilities and motor environment with373children,9kindergartens, and20classes. We used SPSS16.0statistical software package for data analysis to describe the overall level of children’s motor abilities, to present the situation of motor environment in kindergarten, differences between urban and rural children’s motor abilities, differences between urban and rural kindergarten on motor environment. However, children’s abilities in response capability movement, the movement speed, the coordination of hand-eye needed to be strengthened.2. The overall level of motor ability of urban children aged4-6better than the overall motor ability of rural children aged4-6years old. The urban children did better than the rural children in the moving speed, jumping ability, the agility of small muscles, motion control. However the rural children did better than the urban children in balance ability.3. The quality of motor Environment in urban kindergarten is better than quality of the rural kindergarten’s.4. There is a positive correlation between the children’s motor abilities aged4-6and the motor environment in their kindergarten. The better of Kindergarten’s motor environment is, the better children’s motor abilities would be.5. There is a positive correlation between4-6years old children’s motor abilities and four dimensions of the motor environment in kindergarten.Based on the conclusions and the issues we have found, we have given the appropriate advice and improved measures.
