Teacher’s work is mainly to accompany the students and guide them to grow, which exertan important influence on students’ growth, a good teacher is the source of students in thegrowth process significant others, to meet a good mentor is lucky in a person’s life, teacherswho want to become a significant other for students should reach a high level of professionaldevelopment. What kind of significant others do the teachers encounter in his owndevelopment, the study of the teachers growth and development are more important toenhance the professional level of teachers’ development, to enhance the teachers’ influence forstudents. Types significant others in the life of primary and secondary school teachers, therelationship between teachers and significant others, the main influence factors, the way ofhow to influence teachers growth,All these are key issues we need to explore.This study conducts a detailed analysis about significant others in teacher’s professionaldevelopment, which is mainly through the method of questionnaire and interview accordingsome teachers’ teaching in Wuxi or from national teachers’ training, to sum up the main typesof significant others in the development of teachers. This will outline the interaction way tolearn between teachers and significant others and to discuss in depth from three dimensions ofthe significant others of teachers.Generally recognized by the teachers to learn the important others way is to dialogue andexchanges. The teacher must spare no efforts to overcome the obstacles on the road ofself-development. First, teachers who want help of significant others need to discover them, tomake it become the power and source. Teachers should pay attention to education detail in lifeand to broaden the vision of knowledge, meanwhile to break the limitation of time and space,only in this way teachers can enrich and expand the resource of significant other. Secondlyteachers should strengthen the contact with significant other, beyond face-to-facecommunication, teachers should be fully interactive and reflection, also, the auxiliary of theoutside world should provide conditions for teachers’ development. Finally the teacher wantsto comprehensive learning important personality in teaching others, knowledge accumulationand the ability of subject teaching, to realize the promotion of teachers’ professionaldevelopment, enhance the teacher to student’s influence.
