"Orff music education system" is a famous German composer and musician Carl Orff founded, it is one of the worldwide to be influential education system. In the1980s, Professor Liao Naixiong in Shanghai Music College introduced Orff music education system to China. It has been here nearly30years. The incoming of Orff teaching method has important practical significance in basic music education in China. Now, many primary schools have introduced this method into their music classes, which is the feasibility of resources in music education in the future.In this study, the author chooses two primary schools in Hohhot as the study cases to investigate the Orff teaching method. The author describes the detail implementation of Orff teaching method in primary school in Hohhot, and put forward some problems of the Orff teaching method, such as:the lack of infrastructure, teachers’deviations in understanding, and some parents still not approved view, etc.This thesis mainly consists of the following three parts:The first part, first of all, the author discusses the chose the topic on the reason of investigation and study is based on the author’s family background, learning experience and interest in the Orff teaching method and practice basis. Secondly, the author discusses about the Orff teaching method implementation present situation investigation and study of relevant literature. Finally, the author illustrates the use of four kinds of research methods in our study:literature method, fieldwork method, comparative method and interview method.The second part, in the part of the incoming Orff teaching method, the author introduces the Orff teaching method of teaching concept, teaching characteristics and the development course, and enlightenment in elementary school music education. The author discussed from various aspects of Orff teaching method is applicable for the elementary school music classroom theory basis.The third part, the author in two typical schools in Hohhot as cases the Orff teaching method are described briefly and the present situation of the domestic primary school music classroom teaching implementation, the author compares and analyzes the two schools. The author proposes the Orff teaching method in some of the problems existing in the implementation process, and works out corresponding solutions, so that the Orff teaching method can play its proper role in elementary school music class better.This study concluded that Orff teaching method is suitable for our country elementary school music education, we should apply the Orff teaching method fully in the actual music teaching, and change traditional music teaching pattern, develop students’ creative and artistic cells, give full play to student’s main body status. At the same time, teachers should also understand students are people in the development; students of music need the teachers to dig and developed. Teachers should give students the chance.This thesis does the basic research about the Orff teaching method which has important practical significance for the primary school music education.
