With the further reform of education, the reform of the teaching materialalso enters a new phase,with the development of comparative education, Wecan find out that the differences between different geography teachingmaterials and their same characteristics through the comparison of differentcountries, different regions,different versions of textbooks and it is becominga good way for us to draw lessons from their good experience to improve thelevel of our geography textbook compilation.The UK has a very longeducation history of geography, its qualification certificate examinationapproved by many countries and regions, this article selects the ChineseHunan version of teaching materials and the UK OCR teaching material to doa comparison, so as to provide some experience and methods for the writingof the geography textbook in our country that we can learn and borrow.This article compares the geography curriculum and the geographycurriculum standards between the two countries.in the same time,it alsocompares the carrier of the textbooks,the format design the teaching materialcolumns,the images characteristics,the geological knowledge of the twodifferent versions of textbooks.By comparing these aspects, we can find that British geographycurriculum has a very long history, the settings of the geography curriculumis special too, the geography curriculum in the UK now has a newdevelopment after the unitive geography curriculum standards.By comparingteaching forms of expression,we can find that the version of english teachingmaterial has good printing quality,and good quality of pictures and it has morecolumns compared with the version of Hunan geography teaching material.Innatural geography of the earth’s geological content comparison, we can findout that the version of the UK has a complete content and put moreimportance in the rock cycle and the characteristics of the three kinds of rocks,the knowledge is more difficulty than the Hunan version too.The images ofthe teaching material version of the UK have special characteristics too,such as the use of combination of images,the detail note of the images and so on,itsimages have good expressions because of the quality of the printingFinally on the basis of comparison, I briefly summarize somesuggestions: Improve the readability of the textbook,increase the use of thecombined images,improve the quality of the printing of geography teachingmaterial, increase the columns of the teaching material, give great importanceto the design of the teaching material.
