Chinese classical poetry is the essence of Chinese traditional culture. Exposed to thesegreat works, students can not only feel the beauty of their language, but also hand themdown to generations to come. On the other hand, learning these masterpieces is beneficialto their knowledge increase, intelligence development and improvement in the aestheticability.As a result, their personalities are perfected and souls are shaped and purified aswell. However, in reality, the teaching of classical poetry in Senior High is quite inefficient.The traditional teaching concepts and methods are unable to adapt to the demands of thenew curriculum and needs of students. Therefore, it is necessary to achieve the effectiveteaching of classical poetry in Senior High.Based on a thorough study and analysis of current situation of classical poetryteaching and its corresponding reasons, this thesis puts forward some strategies to achievethe effectiveness of teaching, which are explored as follows:Firstly, how to make a change to the teachers’ classroom concepts is thepremise.Secondly, teachers self-improvement is fundamental to the realization of effectiveteaching. The key lies in how to optimize the effectiveness with varieties of methods.Above all, it focuses on analyses of factors to achieve effective teaching of classical poetry,including how to set up the teaching situation, inspire and evaluate classroom teaching aswell as provide guidance to the students’ after-school development. In addition, someconcrete methods of classical poetry teaching are introduced in this thesis, aimed at makinga small difference to the relevant research.
