Mathematical thought is the soul of mathematics, only to master the mathematicalthought, can we experience the various mathematical methods, and grasp the essence ofmathematics. Therefore, we teachers should cultivate mathematics thinking method as abasic task to complete. However, to develop the mathematical thought and method is notan easy thing in practice. Cultivation of mathematics thinking method need patience, time,clear aim, elaborate plan. Nowadays many teachers are influenced by thetraditional Double-Base idea. The classroom teaching of the skill is emphasized toomuch, while little mathematics thought involved. If a teacher does not have good grasp ofthe material accompanied with the ideas and methods, he may be unqualified with thequality education as well as the cultural education. Thus, the cultivation of mathematicalthought and effective method becomes the key issue of this dissertation.This paper first discusses the relationship and difference of the mathematics thoughtand method, analysis of main basic thought and method of the junior middle schoolstage involved. Combined with the junior high school textbook, we discuss thatin which knowledge can be what mathematical thought and method teaching. On the otherhand, which important thinking method can develop in which knowledge points is alsostudied. Through the questionnaire survey, based on interviews of teachers andstudents, we develop training plans and reasonable measures, and actively preparing for aspecific case study. For example, grasping a certain point of knowledge in textbook,reasonably training the mathematical thoughts, designing a subject for students aroundsome important thinking and methods, so as for the students’ deep understanding of thematerials. To conduct different types of courses such as activity lessons, and to takeeffectiveness test for grasping, are also in our fields of research.
