Nowdays, the junior high school students’ study in mathematics is not satisfactory,and mathematics teachers’ teaching also needs further improvements, which are callingfor a “student-oriented” teaching ethos. Mathematical experience teaching makes fulluse of students’ main role in learning, emphasizes students’ experiences and thinking,and focuses on enhancing students’ ability and improving students’ qualities. Experienceteaching is a teaching model which complies with the development of the society andthe development of the new curriculum. Therefore, the study of mathematics experienceteaching is very important.This paper choses the chapter of “graphics similarity” as the carrier, using boththeoretical and empirical research methods, elaborates the essence of experience,mathematical experience, mathematical experience teaching and their theoretical basis.This paper unearths the values in implementing experience teaching in mathematicsteaching in junior high schools, explores the characteristics of mathematical experienceteaching, provides some methods of experience teaching in the chapter of “graphicssimilarity”, and illustrates the necessity of conducting and promoting experienceteaching in mathematics teaching in junior high schools. Combined with teachingpractice, this paper presents the case of mathematical experience teaching–“applications of similar triangles”, and the present teachers and students are interviewed.According to the feedback from instructors, evaluation and reflection on the case ofexperience teaching are gained. Finally, this paper also points out some problems whileendorsing the effects of mathematical experience teaching.
