Chinese ethnic minority areas have been developing rapidly in economic presenting the trend of rising prosperity after the founding of new China, especially under the impetus of the reform and opening up. However, the culture of ethnic minorities has been impacted strongly by foreign culture with the economic development, ethnic memory is also aging, damaged or even disappearing,.The disappearance of the culture makes the ethnic minorities directly face the risk of memory loss. Ethnic memory is part of the Chinese nation5000memory which is indispensable so that its meaning is self-evident. Then how to construct and inherit the national memory should be focused in the construction of a harmonious socialist society letting our future generations be pround of the Chinese nation, sense of identity and national identity. With the development of modern science and technology, archives already can record the moments of production and living of ethnic minority in system, comprehensive and three-dimensional way, which is one of the best ways to save the disappearing culture of ethnic minorities and retain national memory. Fully recognizing that ethnic archives is the important carrier of national memory heritance, the tool of constructing ethnic memory, and then studying in-depth the function and effect of ethnic archives and building the specific ways of ethnic archives to construct and inherit national memory are the key points of this article to further study in order to make the effect of ethnic archives play in ethnic memory get more social recognition, raising the meaning of rescuing and protecting ethnic archives in the whole national memory extending, further promoting social recognition of the importance of archives, and enhancing the social consciousness of archives.The dissertation falls into six parts:Combining with the latest information of research at home and abroad, the introduction mainly discusses the background and research significance of the selected subject, the domestic and foreign archives concept of memory, research status review and methods of national memory function of ethnic archives and the innovation of this article as well.Chapter Ⅰ is discussing concept. It explains the concept and characteristics of the national archives, the connotation of national memory and memory. It analyzes the concept of the special national archives and the generalized national archives, and points out that this article is written based on the concept of the generalized national archives, finally discusses the relevant study of national memory and the memory properties of archives.Chapter Ⅱ is discussing the function. First, it discusses the irreplaceable function and effect of ethnic archives in ethnic memory, secondly explains the special role of the ethnic archives in constructing and inheriting national memory.Chapter Ⅲ is analyzing deficiencies. The existing problems of the ethnic archives play in constructing and inheriting ethnic minority memory are analyzed, mainly for the following three:archives nature of memory has not been fully aware:, the functions of archives haven’t gotten attention they deserve, edge culture and the disadvantaged groups haven’t been concerned.Chapter Ⅳ is perfecting the function. About the deficiencies that ethnic archives construct and inherit the national memory, summarizing the ways and methods that ethnic archives play in construction and inheritance of national memory based on the existing problems of chapter Ⅲ and a greater extent, and then putting forward the countermeasures.
