Livelyhood often embodies a kind of resource allocation of the labor force in the family, with the function of seeking economic benefit. However, it can obtain more abundant meaning when we look to its existence in the village collective. With the advancement of urbanization and modernization, a "DaGongChao" formed in the1980s, the city of tension enhanced obviously, generations of farmers put down their land, instead choosing to go to city for the "nuggets". In Shudong Village, the villagers also left his hometown during the forty years, thus forming an obvious differentiation. Some of them have become the "new cityers", some still struggle in the city, some choose to home back doing the business......The vicissitude of livelihood accompanies by a series of pains:social relations, the pace of life and cultural connotation are continually reconstructed. Although every household within the village has its own individual way of living, on the whole they still can choose a common collective operation mode.By changing the way of individual to collective production, in fact it still uses the traditional ties of village society. Under the wave of urbanization, besides the villagers of Shudong choose more and more diverse individuals living ways to cope with survival problem, the whole village is exploring more conducive and collective livelihood to economic development and culture dissemination. Personal home strategy and collective livelihood planning, as well as the consumption value, are all due to the stability of the village collective.As a case study, this article chooses the living mode of a Dong village in Guizhou Province as the research object, combined with literature review, observation and in-depth interviews and other methods. The text mainly contains six parts for narrative analysis. The first part for this article gives a simple review of the situation of the related research, including livelihood and the Dong Village collective in academic circles. The second part introduces the related background information of the fieldwork. The third part describes the livelihood of the Shudong villagers’ personal changes, as well as the collective livelihood transformation. The fourth part is to explore the relationship between consumption and livelihood of this Shudong villagers. The fifth part analyses the internal motivation behind the change of villagers’living way, mainly debating around the village collective emotion. The sixth is divided into conclusions in this paper. The purpose of this study is intended to show the dynamic process of the livelihood under the influence of the urbanization process. By identifying the adaptation and choice of Dong villagers in the old and the new geopolitical environment, the text explores that the ethnic minority villages desire to internal economic development in a modern situation, and promote the cultural psychology. To the choice of the livelihood, is actually reflected their emotional choice, however, this kind of consciousness in the past study has not received enough attention. In the aspect of livelihood, most scholars focus on the farmers’political and economic behavior, which is too general; this research directly depend on the depth interview, thus this paper from the body displays the small farmers daily behavior, self experience, and personal histories microcosmic angle to illustrate the problem.
