Research On The Xia Mianzun’s Chinese Reading View

Xia Mianzun（1886-1946), who is a famous educator, publisher, writer and translator in modern timeof Chinese history.Xia was engaged in teaching, and writing as the auxiliary in the first part of his life.Then he took the writing as the principle thing, and teaching as his second job during his later life.He neverleft the education career all his life.Abundant teaching practice and the long-term education theory researchmakes Xia’s educational thought, which has distinguished features and complete system.But the academedidn’t pay much attention to Xia’s educational thought.Chinese teaching just focused on the overallframework of the main content of education and exploring the induction and generalization.Few kept awatchful eye on the local or did deep analysis on it.This paper will state the viewpoints of Chinese readingdetailed and systematically,which is an important aspect of Chinese subject teaching in Xia’s educationthought system. Hoping to understand Xia’s advanced and original ideas accurately.The whole article is divided into four chapters.Chapter1will combed Xia’s Chinese educationalpractice sequentially and introduce the formation process of Xia’s education thought.Chapter2will focuson discussing Xia’s language reading view from three aspects: reading content,reading function and target,reading method.Reading content includes main ideas, basic ideas, improved ideas; The function and targetof reading is to cultivate the students’ reading habits and the ability to appreciate the text;Reading methodmainly from four aspects: reading for life, more force in the form, step by step in reading, pay attention tolanguage sense teaching. Chapter3focuses on the practical significance of Xia’s Chinese reading view anddiscusses what enlightenment Chinese reading view brings to today’s Chinese teaching.Xia’s Chinese education thought is inherited the excellent culture of the ancient Chinese education inour country,and put forward many pioneering and frontier opinions, which is laid the foundation for thedevelopment of modern Chinese education thoughts.This paper studies Xia’s Chinese thoughts ofdistinctive Chinese reading and teaching carefully, providing theoretical support and practical guidance forChinese reading teaching.
