The new curriculum reform, which started in2001, made development and utilization of curriculum resources to be a new bright spot. With the deepening of theoretical research of curriculum, the geography curriculum resources are constantly updating and developing. But in the actual teaching of geography, the development and utilization of geography curriculum resources is far from ideal, a new ways of teaching, views of teachers and students which the new curriculum proposed are not implemented. Based on this background, this paper, taking Pu Yang City as an example, regards the use of local geography curriculum resources as the topic of the research. When arranging the analysis of existing research, I find that, conceptual issues of curriculum resources have been fully expounded, related experts and scholars have put forward the corresponding principles, methods and strategies of the development and utilization. These strategies related to the use of local geography curriculum resources have made some guidance for teachers on the front, but the operability is impossible for the actual teaching of geography. In response to these problems, this study suggests that an effective way to make rational use of local geography curriculum resources is that combining the local geography curriculum resources with geography teaching material of high school to be penetrated into the class.By reviewing a lot of related literature, analyze and explore the theoretical foundation of the utilization of local geography curriculum resources, which enhances the development process of curriculum resources scientific and purposeful, and avoids the blindness and randomness.This paper analyzes the existing research on curriculum resources at home and abroad, sums up the concept, classification, characteristics, the principles of development and utilization, methods and approaches of curriculum resources, and defines the concept of the local geography curriculum resources, the connotation, the principles and strategies of the utilization of geography curriculum resources by inductive and deductive methods.This study collects local geography curriculum resources of Pu Yang City by qualitative and quantitative methods, investigates the status of the utilization of the local geography curriculum resources of Pu Yang through questionnaires and interviews, and uses SPSS, EXCEL and other statistical softwares to process and analyze the first-hand information obtained. The findings will be drawn into a variety of understandable graphical and tabular forms, which show the survey results visually and clearly, and reflect the teaching feature of geography that is to make use of graph to explain the text.On the basis of comprehensive analysis of the actual situation,taking Pu Yang City an example, explore the strategies of combining the local geography curriculum resources with high school geography textbooks:1, improve the awareness and skills of schools and teachers using the local geography curriculum resources;2, utilize the local geography curriculum resources to meet the conditions of the schools and the region;3, screen the local geography curriculum resources required carefully;4, infiltrate the local geography curriculum resources in the class;5, strengthen multiparty cooperation. Emphasizes combining the local geography curriculum resources and high school geography textbooks (PEP edition) in the ways of use, pay attention to the application of life examples, and cite several teaching cases.
