Practical Exploration Of Social Work Intervention In Health Services For Community Senior Citizens

With progress of the age, health issue of the aged has become the focus onefacing the society. People have gradually placed more and more emphasize on healthand active aging of the aged. Therefore, the combination of specialized knowledge onsocial work and health&well-being maintenance of the aged can be bound to bring usa completely different and marvelous landscape.This thesis, mainly centering on issue of the Health and Well-being Maintenanceof the Aged in the Community, combines health and well-being maintenance of theaged with social services, so as to solve the problem, improving the daily life of theaged in the end. So far, the author has comprehensively applied the professionaltheories and practical experience as well as the methods of questionnaire,unstandardized interviews, action research and document research etc. into practice.These methods were implemented by social workers through carrying out the groupactivities of Well-being and Health Maintenance for the aged in the community,aiming to make them comprehend the definition and importance of active ageing. Bythe end of the activity, the author, on the basis of her analysis and reflection on thewhole process, came up with the advice of starting from the aspects of the agedthemselves, families, communities and society, thus establishing an all-aroundpractical system, rendering a powerful model for the later similar activities.Through this activity, the author has not only found the practical method forhealth and well-being maintenance of the aged, but also let the aged realize thenecessity of active aging to a further degree. At the same time, lots of problems aswell as enlightenment were found and received during this process. For instance, theestablishment of social support theory shall be paid attention to. Only by doing this,can the health issue of the aged be solved through the way of life and spirit.Considering the key effect of social worker, the specialty and responsibility of themshall be enhanced, making them clearly realize the responsibility on their shoulder, soas to form a virtuous circle, providing a better service for the resident.
