As the CPC Central Committee and the State Council proposed in "On Further Strengthening and Improving Ideological and Political Education", ideological and political education is a crucial part of the strategy of reinvigorating China. University students are the most valuable human resources and the future of this nation. It is necessary to strengthen and improve ideological and political education for university students. So the university students would be qualified to be the builders and successors of the socialism with Chinese characteristics. Ideological and political education is an important way to help university students build proper outlook on world, life and value. But it usually does not achieve the ideal effect in practice. The primary cause comes from the reverse psychology of university students. It reduces the effectiveness of ideological and political education and brings bad influence to university students. Based on the reverse psychology concepts, this thesis analyzed the causes of this problem, then proposed the countermeasures to avoid university students’ reverse psychology in ideological and political education. This thesis consists of five parts:Part one: Introduction. This part introduced the background and importance of this thesis. This part also includes literature review, research ideas and methods.Part two: Expressions and features of reverse psychology in ideological and politicaleducation. Part two introduced the concepts of reverse psychology in ideological and politicaleducation, and summarized the expressions and features of this problem.Part three: Causes of reverse psychology in ideological and political education. This partanalyzed the reasons of reverse psychology from three aspects which are the education itself,university students and social factors.Part four: Countermeasures to reverse psychology in ideological and political education.Based on the causes analyzed in part three, this part proposed the countermeasures after studying five aspects related to ideological and political education which includes the pedagogues, the education itself, the environment of education, and the psychology education.Part five: Summary. Summarized this thesis and listed the deficiencies of the research.
