Undergraduates represent the promising future of both China and the whole nation, and they are also the dominant force to realize our great “China Dream”. Confronted with the severe international competition, we must adhere to the people-centered principle to carry on ideological and political education based on the real situation of the undergraduates so as to help them establish right outlook on the world, on life and values which meet the needs of this time. Reverse psychology objectively exists in the college students’ ideas which makes negative influences and destroys the efficiency of ideological and political education. What’s more, it affects educators’ normal work. Faced with the intricate social problems and the ideological education environment, it’s in great need to perform researches on the reverse psychology of undergraduates.This paper is generally based on the ideas below:The first part defines what’s reverse psychology and what are the characters of it, additionally this part introducing the main types of this psychology and stating what harm the psychology does to the educated, the educators and the ideological and political education; The next part presents the main performances of the reverse psychology after analyzing it cognitively, emotionally and behaviorally; Thirdly the paper focuses on finding the reasons about what motivates this kind of psychology from the aspects of the educated, the educators, the ideological and political education environment and the medium of this education; Last but certainly not least,the paper offers four kinds of solutions towards how to prevent the college students from getting into the reverse psychology.
