The Study On Chinese Skimming Text Teaching In Middle School

Since the New Curriculum Standard of Chinese published in2001, itproposed students should have ability of independent reading and get avariety of reading methods. Skimming text is a kind of text type of theChinese textbook. It is the text which should under the directing of teacher,use various kinds of reading methods, then purposed to achieve independentreading. As the middle school students grow thirst of knowledge, reading as abasic way of learning, ability of reading is determine the quality of studentslearning. Arranging the skimming text in the Chinese textbook is purposed totraining the ability of independent reading and improving the levels of reading.The skimming texts are accounting for half of the total texts of now usingChinese textbook. It is very important part of the middle school Chineseteaching which can’t be ignored.The teaching of skimming text is a process that the student under thedirecting of teacher to try to read in independent way. It emphasizes theautonomy of student learning. The activity of skimming text teachingincluded students’ activity and teacher’s activity. The students’ activity isreading and teacher’s activity is do a series of directing.. This article studiesthe skimming text teaching and on the basis of others’ research bibliographyon this issue, by the way of investigate the middle school students and teachers, analyzing and researching problems of the process during skimmingtext teaching of teachers and students. Teachers should play their role to guidestudents’ studying, and they should fully understand the students’ readinghabits, develop viable targets, respect the autonomy of students’ studying, andcombine with the intensive text to guide extra curricular reading. This articleis expected to promote the practice of skimming text teaching.
