The rapid development and spread of internet and computer technologyprovides a brand-new environment for web-based learning, among which, theweb-based cooperative learning is an important part. Compared to traditionalcooperative learning, the web-based cooperative learning is flexible, open andinteractive, free from the restrictions of time, space and locations. This paper employsliterature, comparison research and questionnaire to investigate and analyze the status,features and other related issues of web-based grown-up cooperative learning in Chinaand provides constructive suggestions to improve the cooperative learning.The main contents of this paper include:(1) Analyzing the contents, features andintegral factors of web-based grown-up cooperative learning;(2) Investigating andanalyzing the status of grown-up cooperative learning in China;(3) Discussing relevanttheories of web-based grown-up cooperative learning;(4) Proposing suggestions onhow to improve grown-up cooperative learning in China.The conclusions of this paper:(1) The web environment provides a convenientlearning platform for grown-up cooperative learning;(2) The constructivism learningtheory, social inter-dependence theory and social cohesion theory are the pillars ofgrown-up cooperative learning;(3) The major problems besetting the web-basedcooperative learning in China: the shortage of cooperation consciousness; the shortageof individual responsibility; the poor organization of learning teams; the lack ofcooperation learning skills;(4) Suggestions to improve grown-up cooperative learningin China: strengthening the cooperative learning consciousness and improving thelearning efficiency; building teams rationally and enhancing the cooperation skills;building active and reliable partnership; developing cooperative learning skills.The innovations and deficiencies of this paper:(1) Innovations. This papercombines the advantages of grown-up learning and web-based learning in order to maximize the profits of the cooperative learning.(2) Deficiencies. First, the theoreticalsupport and analyzing methods of this paper may be not adequate enough due to thelimited access to foreign and domestic literature; second, the composition and logic ofthis paper still have room to be improved; the survey scope and subject may be notcomprehensive enough; and the strategy is proposed from a macroscopic view andneeds to be reconsidered so as to be operable and practical.
