For students in the Information Age, it is hard to cope with life and works in the future with traditional study based on knowledge accumulation. They are facing a new learning environment in which main learning tools are multimedia and network technology, so that their learning methods will change as well.Developing cooperative learning could help digest authentic and imitative situation, and students use information technology (including communication tools, networks, computer, multimedia, etc.) as learning tools for more knowledge with the teachers’help. The purpose of this study is to discuss in information environment how to design an efficient method of cooperative learning for students’interest developing, knowledge enriching and skills improving.Firstly, the study reviews and analyses domestic and foreign literature about cooperative learning, which provides practically theoretical guidance on research background, theory basis, definition and other aspects.Secondly, contrast a teaching design model diagram for cooperative learning in information environment; explain and analyze the basic contents of every elements of the design. Then, take science lesson "The Diversity of Organisms" in grade 6 in primary school as a teaching case, design a teaching scheme using the above model, practice and gain a feedback from observation and interview, also summarize and analyze the questions.Lastly, a general conclusion with possible limitations and suggestions for further research efforts is presented.Through the research, the paper arrives that students could follow the teaching arrangements and finish learning tasks under the teaching with cooperative learning design in information environment.Also, some students say that learning with communication tools such as "QQ" helps them learn with each other out of school without time or geographical limitations.However, there are still some problems. Primary school students are weak in self-controlling and self-learning, for that it is difficult for them to concentrate long. Through the research, the students only experience the cooperative learning by the simplest communication tools, but there are not more in-depth studies.
