To solve various difficulties of the study of teaching tact, and discover more relevant and functional advice in wide range, I try to explain teaching tact from the root of teaching action, on the base of field research, including my own experience as a teacher of high school chemistry, and the survey for the practical circumstances of the new curriculum reform. In this study, the new explanation for the teaching tact is to be reflected in connotative meaning, standard, significance and the connection to the conventional teaching. Evidence in theory and actual situation will prove that teaching tact is necessarily the matter of course. Typical cases will be referred to illustrate the general value of teaching tact in the teaching course of high school chemistry:profound intention for digging into new curriculum, calm and wise influence when accompanying with study, active focus on improving teaching.It is not easy for us to carry out the course of new curriculum effectively. However, we can pay close attention to active alteration in details, and we should know well the whole teaching is the static and dynamic balance between routine preparation and tactful swing. To change rigidly technical teaching into stirring and wise style, natural and tactful action, with noticeable individuality, is definitely needed. Because teaching tact is not only a series of wise action, but also a sense of tact, virtually a type of particular perception, which is gradually accumulated and promoted in the process of resourceful practice in teaching profession. To make the teaching of high school chemistry more tactful and better, we should acknowledge the importance of knowledge base, furthermore, we have to improve our practical quality of teaching tactfully not only in class, but also before and after class. Generally, training tact for high school chemistry teacher, we have to focus on the following aspects:updating ideas, accumulating experience and developing ability, being in full swing, reflection. And when in class, we’d better follow the procedural logic of teaching tact, including:improving the shining hour sensitively, real understanding, suitable reaction, stylized practice, excellent performance.
