| The development of social examination relies on the demand to fulfill its purpose ofserving modern vocational education. With the further development of the society, socialexamination has shown the trends of expansion, normalization and standardization in theexam types and scale, making positive contribution to the construction of a lifelong educationsystem to all and the building of a modern vocational education system. In the meanwhile, asa new field catering for the society and the needs of different social groups, socialexamination started relatively late, hence much room for improvement in its management.This paper employs relevant theories from education, administrative management andpublic management and adopts research methods such as literature research, empiricalresearch, comparative analysis, data analysis, etc. It carries out a critical review of the currentdevelopment of various social exams hosted, co-organized or undertaken by the Departmentof Education and Examinations of Guangdong Province, analyzes the present managementsystem through conducting case studies on some individual social exams, and sorts out theexisting problems in the management of social examination. This paper probes into themanagement system of social examination in Guangdong and discloses the defects of thismanagement system and its operation mechanism. Moreover, by exploring foreign advancedexperience of examination management in vocational education, this paper proposes threecountermeasures to improve the management of social examination in Guangdong, namely,improvement of the social examination system, promotion of management efficiency andstrengthened publicity of social exams.Hopefully, this paper will increase the awareness of the government departmentsconcerned and people from all walks of life of the importance of social examination, andprovide specific text basis and policy guidance for the unified management of all socialexams, so as to straighten out the responsibility at all levels, standardize the management ofsocial exams at the provincial level, and eventually facilitate the healthy and sustainabledevelopment of social examination. |
