Writing ability is one of the important ability that students should master and thehardest thing that cultivate and improve ability in Chinese learning to students. As ainstructional mode of training students’ writing ability, diary teaching is a useful way toimprove writing ability of students for its flexibility, freedom and continuous. In theteaching, however, diary teaching is neglected because of no specific requirements incurriculum standard, and no specific location in teaching material. In order to improve thestudents’ writing ability, in recent years, more and more teachers begin to pay closeattention to diary teaching, and apply the diary teaching in the teaching practice, thusaccumulating a lot of practice experience. However there are still many problems in diaryteaching.Rural primary schools as a study, my paper explores how to practice the diaryteaching in these schools by means of investigation method, interviewing method, caselaw, literature data method, and so on.This paper mainly includes the following severalaspects:Introduction mainly elaborates the research purpose, the research significance, themain research methods and the research status of the diary teaching.Chapter one defines related notions of diary and diary teaching, distinguish somedifferent points between the diary teaching and composition teaching, and expounds theunique value of diary writing and diary teaching in rural primary schools. On the basis ofanalyzing the present diary writing situation of rural primary school students, mainproblems existing in the diary writing of rural primary school students and the teaching ofteachers have found.On the basis of above problems, chapter two develops effective strategies of the diaryteaching of rural primary schools, including based on scientific concept, following thegrowth of students, stimulating students’ interest in writing, creating the right writingatmosphere, improving the evaluation approach, and establishing evaluation mechanism. From practical angle, the third chapter proposes specific practical methods about thediary teaching of rural primary schools, including innovating patterns of the dairy writing,setting teachers’ example for students in class, and developing extracurricular activities,enriching materials of diary writing after school. In evaluation, teachers should carefullyscrutinize, at the same time, increase subjects of evaluation, and exercise multiplyassessment.In addition to improving the level of students’ writing, enhancing students’ writingability, the diary teaching also exert an effect on developing students’ character andpsychology. Therefore, we should think about it, and continue practicing.
