With the development of politics, economy, culture and society, the content, method, andtheory of ideological and political education are constantly updated and perfected. As a majorpart of school education, the ideological and political education of university students is also theguarantee for their formation of world view, the view of life and values. Especially the rapiddevelopment of Internet technology has brought about not only an opportunity but alsochallenges for ideological and political education. Under the circumstance that Micro-blog hasbecome an indispensable part in college students’ school life, it is urgent for those ideologicaland political educators to use micro-blog in carrying out college students’ ideological andpolitical education and doing research.This paper begins from the description of the concept, characteristics and development ofmicro-blog, and the feasibility of using micro-blog on colleague students’ ideological andpolitical education. It is because a correct and objective understanding of the micro-blog will laythe foundation for the application research of micro-blog in college ideological and politicaleducation. Then this paper objectively analyzes the condition of micro-blog application incollege students’ ideological and political education and discusses the opportunities andchallenges brought by Micro-blog to college students’ ideological and political educationcombining the reality in college students’ ideological and political education. Finally, the articleputs forward the specific measures to use micro-blog to strengthen college students’ ideologicaland political education.
