On The Promotion Of Ability Of Ideological And Political Education Of The Counselor In University

The counselor is the front-line practitioner of ideological and political education work in college and the main subject in charge of ideological and political education work of college students, whose work plays a crucial role in improving college students’ ideological and political quality and moral standards. The ability of ideological and political education of the counselor is not only related to the effectiveness of the ideological and political work, but also effects the comprehensive development of the cause of national education indirectly. Therefore, it is of certain practical significance to study the development of counselor’s ability of ideological and political education and analyze reasons of the problems and then explore the methods of promoting the ability.With the emphasis on ideological and political education work of the nation and the diversification of teaching way which is produced by the rapid progress of network, the development of counselor’s ability of ideological and political education gains new opportunities.In the meantime, there are some problems which mainly include the gap between the level and the requirements of ideological development of college students, the low level system which does not meet the requirements of the professional construction and the separation from the career planning of the counselor. The lack of essential support of the society and the defect of university system and the shortage of the power of personal development are the primary causes of the problems.According to the problems and deep causes of the development of counselor’s ability of ideological and political education, this paper proposes the corresponding solutions. Firstly, in the social aspect, by strengthening the attention of capacity building, confirming the position of the ability of ideological and political and completing the funding and policy to enhance the support. Secondly, in the school aspect, by increasing the threshold of employment, building scientific assessment and training system and confirming the different obligation of the student-affair system to perfect the safeguard measure. Lastly, in the counselor aspect, according to the procedure and mission in different stage to formulate specific means. Besides, it’s also useful to make full use of the leading function of enhancing the serving awareness, guiding function of the accumulation of advanced experience and enlightening function of strengthening mental health education, which provides continued impetus to the development of counselor’s ability of ideological and political education.
