Currently, to enhance and improve the collegiate ideological and political education is of strategic and profound significance. As it is pointed out in Advice on Further Enhancing and Improving the Collegiate Ideological and Political Education Issued by State Council of Chinese Communist Party Central Committee, "Undergarduate is a kind of valuable human resource, which is both the hope for our nation and the future for our country. To enhance and improve the ideological and political education, is a matter of strategic project for the country's future and the nation's destiny, is a matter of basic project for the "the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education" and "the strategy of reinforcing the country through talent works", is a matter of significant project for the advanced socialism cultural and spiritual civilization construction, and is a matter of vital interests related to handreds and thousands of families", colleges are required to creatively impel the collegiate ideological and political work. College counselors are the mainstays who carry out moral education and collegiate ideological and political work as mentors and guides for the growth of undergraduates. Therefore, how to innovate college counselor's ideological and political work is to be a significant matter for collegiate ideological and political education.This thesis is made up of three parts:the first part discribes the current situation of college counselor's work, discusses from the college counselor's basic situation, quality situation, management situation, etc. and anlayzes the relevant causes for all above. The second part discribes the basises of the innovation of college counselor's ideological and political work, discusses from the theoretic basis, practical basis, chronological basis, etc. and reaches a judgement that the college counselor's ideological and political work is bound to be innovated. The third part, which is the key point of the thesis, discusses from team composition innovation, concept innovation, content innovation, method innovation for college counselor's ideological and political work, specifically as the followings:as for team composition innovation, the thesis is unprecedentedly featured in holding the idea that the team composition innovation shall be both key point and basis for college counselor's ideological and political work. More consideration shall be paid to re-recogonization and reconstitution, professionalization and expertise, seletion and appointment, training and development, assessment and evaluation, promotion and progress, organization and mechanism, motivation mechanism, information accomplishments and so on; as for the concept innovation, the thesis believes that changing ideological and political notions and developing new approaches are leading elements for the the innovation of college counselor's ideological and political work. New attitudes such as student-based, perspectiveness and innovation shall be set up; as for the content innovation, the thesis declares that college counselor's ideological and political work shall keep pace with times since new era has given new meaning to the ideological and political work.The ideological and political work shall be brought to a new phase through the cultivation of responsibility awareness, the exploitation of innovation ability, the molding of psychological character, the commence of entrance eduation, the help-out of students in poverty, the instruction of career planning, the guiding of network cognizance, the education of cherishing lives and so on; as for the method innovation, the thesis insists that the application of ideological and political education shall be variably based on the needs of times.
