Status Of Disabled Child Family Foster Care And Social Work Intervention’s Demand Research In China

As China gradually increase the number of orphans and child safety incidents in recent years, the frequent occurrence, placement of orphaned children by the general public ’s attention. In China, the traditional model of residential care is the care of orphans and disabled children, but this model of mental health and personality development of children have a greater harm. With the continuous improvement of the economic, cultural level, people gradually realized that disabled children have the same needs as an ordinary child care and care for the family, so the family foster care model was introduced in China. Family foster care placement mode disabled children in the family, children feel the warmth of the family to develop both physically and mentally. From the beginning of 1994, China has successively carried out the foster family, has formed the " Beijing model", " Shanghai model", and achieved good results. But, after all, our work has only just started a foster family, is still in the exploratory stage, after several years of development and prosperity, to now begin to show problems, foster care model began to shrink.Social work is the advanced concepts of self-reliance as a guide, a professional approach to helping active career. Covering a very wide field of social work, social work for children is an important branch. Children’s social work attention to vulnerable groups of children, the purpose is to stimulate children’s self-development, self-growth potential, to promote children’s healthy development. At present, China is still not forming in family foster care social work intervention model, so the family foster care social work will be a great demand. What are the problems in family foster care ? Its social work in the end there is a demand for what ? It is worth exploring and thought-provoking questions.In this study, by combing the literature, understand the general situation of China’s family foster care work carried out, and through field studies, the relevant staff of both Beijing and Taiyuan, welfare agencies and foster parents in-depth interviews to obtain first-hand information on the current understanding of the two families foster carried the status quo and problems, and based on this analysis of family foster the demand for social work, and finally combined with our experience in family foster care are given appropriate countermeasures.
