The Study Of National Unity Convention In Yunnan During The Early1950s

In the early1950s, when Yunnan province was just liberated, it is faced with ethnic problems, class confrontations, and defense issues of which the ethnic problem is the most intractable. And it was possible to further and better conduct the other two aspects of problem only by promoting unity among the different ethnic groups in Yunnan province. Therefore, pretty high attention was paid to ethnic unity from central government and local governments all over Yunnan province. The central government ever laid out a guideline of "unity speaks louder than work", local governments in Yunnan province also took a lot of measures to mediate the ethnic relationship. In this context, a number of minority areas in Yunnan Province started the climax of signed national unity Convention, which drove the whole domestic unity a big step forward. This article deeply analyzes those conventions signed in that specific time from five aspects and with the conventions themselves as the object of the research. For the first part, it describes the disunity factors early in the liberation of Yunnan province. And secondly, it describes the fundamental state of contract establishment throughout Yunnan province.Next, it analyzes the content and characteristics of National Unity Convention of Yunnan province, and the analysis is from the point of political identification, military conflicts, the development of ethnic relations and production. Finally, the articles conclude the historical role of National Unity Convention. The fifth part it is concluded that the construction of Yunnan ethnic unity advances the prosperity and stability in border areas demonstration zone.
