Education on the peasants is an important way that has long beeneffectively testified by experience. Therefore CPC has never ignored theissue in the process of the revolution, construction and reform. In theearly years of the People’s Republic of China(1949-1956), it is amomentous transition period linking the preceding with the following. Infront of the new strategic task and historical mission, CPC has closelylinked the requirements of the politics, economy and ideology and thendone an over-all education among the peasants in the guidance of thethought Marxist theory of the education on the peasants. During this time,CPC has experienced three stages: Enlightenment, Infancy and Prosperity.In the seven years, the education contents mainly include scientific andcultural knowledge, legal knowledge, ideological and political knowledge,situation and policy education knowledge and agricultural techniqueknowledge. Either through the development course or peasants education,we can find there are significant features in this time, that is, combinationof regular education and topic education, focus on ideological andpolitical education, variety of educational targets, practicability ofpeasants’ education, and diversification of education forms. In the earlyyears of the People’s Republic of China, though CPC has achieved greatpractical effectiveness, there are yet some limits and deficiencies. Wemust take an objective and holistic approach to this issue, sum uphistorical experiences and lessons and provide beneficial apocalypse forpeasants’ education in the new period thereby.
