Psychological Damage Rooted in Occupation(PDRO) has become the important issues that endanger coal miners’ physical and mental health and the safe production order of coal mining. Characteristics of natural environment, characteristics of derivative environment, macroscopic industry policies, characteristics of occupational safety and health regulations in coal miners will be analyzed systematically first, and the influence mechanism and degradation effect of micro institutional environment will be discussed, so as to clarify situational factors rooted in occupation of coal mine. And also, characteristics of coal miner’s activities will be analyzed to study the psychological status construction mechanism under different situations rooted in occupation in view of activity process. Besides, hypothesis of evolution path of psychologicaldamage rooted in occupation like ―Psychological poverty-Psychologicalbarrier–Psychological forced‖ will be prosed and the theoretical model will be set up.Basison this, using grounded theory clarify situation rooted in occupation systemto build mechanism model between the situations rooted in occupation system and Psychological Damage Rooted in Occupation.The model of Psychological Damage Rooted in Occupationwas validated by the methodsof questionnaire survey, exploratory factor analysis and structural equation model.The following conclusions are drawn:(1) Psychological Damage Rooted in Occupation consists of three dimensions:psychological poverty, psychological barrier and ps ychological forced;(2) Work skills and work intensity which is under work characteristic class,has negativeeffect on psychological barrier and psychological forced through psychological poverty;(3) Work environment which is under work environment characteristic class, has anegative effect on psychological barrier and psychological forced through psychological poverty;(4) Return to pay, organizational justice and organizational rejection which is under organizational characteristic class, has negative effect on psychological barrier and psychological forced through psychological poverty; and return to pay through Sense of Identity has negative effect on psychological poverty;(5)The prospects of the enterprises development have negative effect on psychological barrier and psychological forced through psychological poverty.Finally, based on the conclusions of empirical research,we proposetwo measures to protect coal miners from Psychological damage rooted in occupation on the view of occupational health psychology: one is to control the situations rooted in occupation and anther is to set up healthy monitor system, hoping provides some referencesto the enterprise management practice.
