There is one way to achieve the goal of sports power that we must do necessary sports exchange and sharing, English as one of the common official language in global communication, as the world economic integration trend of globalization, It is beyond doubt that the role of English in the process of communication, so this requires our participants not only have professional sports quality, but also for our sports professionals put forward higher requirements, So it become a big reason that the professional sports students must learn English well, to improve the English communication ability and comprehensive English using ability. According to the ministry of education of the college English curriculum requirements, it is necessary to cultivate students’ English comprehensive application ability in all aspects, but the teaching of sports English is far from to achieve the requirements, especially listening and speaking skills. It is severe challenges to make them in study, work and social communication can freely communicate effectively in English in the future, at the same time to strengthen their independent learning ability, improve the overall cultural quality, to adapt to the changes in our country and social development and international communication.Based on the above background, we study as an example of Xi ’an Sports University, By using the literature material, questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics, logic analysis and other research methods, After the research and analysis got the current situation of English learning in Xi ’an Sports University about graduate students,finally from the teaching methods, teaching management, and puts forward the corresponding suggestion to hardware construction of the sports colleges and universities graduate English, and draws the following conclusions: As an integral part of a special force in the group, In the process of college English reform has more problem to face and solve by compared with ordinary colleges and universities, the current various universities are actively and effectively carry out relevant teaching reform of college English course, sports colleges and universities, The Study also found that the current sports graduate courses in English study is not get enough attention, between teachers and students are not form a good relationship in the teaching process, no clear learning motive, no professional sports teachers of English teaching, evaluation and examination system is too single, can not objectively reflect the students’ English comprehensive ability. In the process of reform of professional sports students’ English learning should step up publicity efforts, provide more opportunities of training and education for teachers, as far as possible perfect evaluation mechanism, at the same time strengthen the communication between teachers and students.However, due to the characteristics of professional sports discipline and its own unique charm, in our college English teaching reform, we also have more opportunities and development than ordinary colleges and universities.
