With the development of international trade,the economies of various countries have gradually become globalized.Under the background of “English boom” around the world,exploring current English teaching reforms and learning methods will make teachers' work and students' study more effective.At the same time,scientific research results in the related field can not only be used to guide and improve teaching practice,but also will enrich the theoretical basis and practical experience of college English education in China.The material of this translation report is chosen from the first chapter of the book Internationalizing Teaching,Localizing Learning: An Examination of English Language Teaching Reforms and English Use in China written by professor Paul McPherron.This chapter mainly introduces the history of English teaching in China and the main teaching methods involved,and briefly introduces the general information of CSU,which plays a leading role in the whole passage.The translation report is composed of four parts: task description,translation process,case study and summary.The author analyzes typical examples at lexical,syntactic,textual and rhetorical levels.It mainly includes words addition and subtraction,the translation of long and difficult sentences,etc.,involving translation skills such as part-of-speech conversion,segmentation and conjunction.Through such a practice,the author grasps the method of translation of educational texts,deepens the understanding of English teaching reforms in China.It also provides some guidance for future learning.
