A Report On E-C Translation Of Fashion Critique From The Perspective Of Adaptation Theory

This paper was written on the basis of fashion critique translation program, in which the veteran fashion editors, by diving into style, fabric and other fashion elements, unveiling the design concept cultural connotation behind the works.Fashion critique, not only carries the basic informative, descriptive characteristics but also has its own vocative and evaluative features. As a comprehensive language, it is influenced by many factors and many difficulties in the translation process are encountered. Adaptation Theory holds that adaptation is the property of language which enables human beings to make negotiable linguistic choices from a variable range of possibilities in such a way as to approach points of satisfaction for communicative needs. It is used in this paper to assist in solving difficulties at lexical, syntactic and cultural levels.Under the guidance of Adaption Theory, the author adopted several translation techniques, such as transliteration plus annotation, use of flowery expression and ues of four-character structure, restructuring to make contextual and structural adaptations. This paper is helpful in improving fashion critique translation, further advancing the fashion talents cultivation and propelling China to become a design and innovation center.
