Middlebury Summer Language School is famous for its unique teaching ideas and successful teaching effects. It has become the demonstration and representation of the s hort-term Chinese teaching intensive project in the United States. We call this teaching f orm Mode of Middlebury. Furthermore, there are some Chinese short term Chinese tea ching projects which lead by American schools, such as CET, are also influenced by M ode of Middlebury. Unfortunately, during we took part in CET-this kind of short term Chinese teaching project, which aimed at developing students’ speaking and listening, we found that students’ability of writing haven’t improved as fast as their Speaking and Writing,This paper want explain the students’ ability and the training situation of writing in this program,on base on the overall situation of American short-term intensive program,students’ writing error analysis and results questionnaire.Then reflect students’ writing training.In introduction of this paper we shall talk about research summary and the purpose, significance of research. For the first part, we would introduce the overall situation of program including theoretical foundation,teaching organization. In the second part,we would discuss the results of questionnaire.Next we would analyze the students’ writing material of the third class of CET and the all MIC students. At the last part,we would combine the first and second part with results of questionnaire for summarizing the reasons of why students’ writing training in program suffer from inadequate capacity.
