In the field of short-term intensive teaching of Chinese,the United States has a long history of intensive teaching and has the greatest impact on China.Since the founding of Middlebury Chinese Summer School.various short-term intensive Chinese teaching programs in China have sprung up,attracting a large number of Chinese learners to come to China to study Chinese.These short-term intensive Chinese programs usually use holiday time(approximately eight weeks)to put students in the target language environment and conduct full-immersion intensive teaching in order to achieve the goal of significantly improving the Chinese language ability of students in a short time.After years of development,these projects have formed a relatively complete framework and system,with a stable teaching model and management model and their respective outstanding school-running characteristics,have a lot of influence in the industryIn many studies on short-term Chinese teaching programs(such as PIB,CIB,etc.).there is very little research on the CSI program,because comparing with other programs.the scale is small,and there are fewer foreign language teachers engaged in it.Despite this,as a language teaching program with a history of forty years,it undoubtedly leads the trend of the times in many aspects,and the problems exposed are more representative.As of the current research data,not many are related with the CSI program.The existing research are mainly the introduction of its early operation,and there has been no systematic research and introduction of the overall operation of the program(including teaching model,management model,etc.),nor has it been compared with other programs,summarizing advantages and existing problems.Therefore,this paper takes the teaching model and management model as two main research directions,deeply analyzes them.and points out the advantages and disadvantages on the basis of comparison with the domestic short-term intensive programs,and try to put forward relevant suggestions for its future development To a certain extent,this paper enriches the research of domestic short-term Chinese intensive programs and provides references for teachers of teaching of Chinese as a second language participating in various programsThis article is divided into six parts.The first chapter introduces the research background of the paper,including the meaning of the topic and the purpose of the research,and the relevant research design for the paper,such as the object,ideas and methods.The second chapter is a review of the relevant literature in this article,including previous achievements and thoughts in several major areas,such as "Short-term Intensive Language Teaching Model Research" and " Research on American Short-term Chinese Intensive Programs in China".The third chapter introduces the CSI program from three aspects,the project itself,teaching model and management model.Chapter 4 compares the CSI program with other Chinese short-term intensive programs,analyzes the commonalities and characteristics,and puts forward some suggestions for the program based on the results of the comparison.The final chapter is the conclusion,records the harvest and summarizes the shortcomings of the research.
