Evolution Of The Modern Guinan Pinghua Dialect

This article depends on the Innovation Project of Guangxi Graduate Education 2015 (Project number:YCSW2015024), which support by the Degree Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. After years of field investigation, the Pinghua Dialects in peripheral areas of Nanning City have more substantial investigation results than before, through the investigation of Sucun in Wutang Town Xingning District Nanning City, and combined with the previous studies of Pinghua Dialects in peripheral areas of Nanning City, we look forward to integrating resources, to revealing the characteristics of peripheral areas Pinghua dialect of Nanning City, to exploring the evolution of the modern Guinan Pinghua Dialect, to studying the language attitude and language identification of the peripheral areas in Nanning City.Chapter 1 is the preface. It introduces the research status of Nanning Pinghua Dialect and language identity, it also introduces the purpose, the significance, the research methods, the corpus source, the informants of this study.Chapter 2 is the general situation of Nanning. It introduces the Nanning City’s geography, history, the geography and the humanities of Sucun, the language situation in peripheral areas of Nanning City, etc.Chapter 3 is the phonology of the Pinghua Dialects in peripheral areas of Nanning City. Descripting the phonology of Sucun Dialect, summarizing the characteristics of the initial consonants, vowels and tones, listing the phonetic matching table, discussing the middle Chinese voiced initial’s aspirated situation in Sucun Dialect, and listing the homophones.Chapter 4 is the lexical and grammatical features in peripheral areas of Nanning City.Chapter 5 to 6 is the research of the evolution of modern Guinan Pinghua Dialect. Comparing the phonetic, lexical and grammatical systems of Sucun Dialect to other dialects in peripheral areas of Nanning City, and investigating the internal subarea of peripheral areas in Nanning City.Chapter 7 is the research of language identification in peripheral areas of Nanning City. Using the methods of social linguistics to analyze the investigation of language use, language attitude and language identification in Sucun.Chapter 8 is the conclusion.
