After the reform and opening up, China’s rapid economic development, more and more foreigners come to China with their family because of jobs. Weihai is the nearest city of South Korea from Chinese mainland, more than thousands of Korean enterprises settled in Weihai. According to government statistics for 2014, Weihai region (including Rongcheng, Rushan and Wendeng District), the number of Korean workers has reached more than 30 thousand people. Due to the language barriers have a great impact to these Korean people and their families on their daily life in Weihai, more and more Korean families in China began to learn Chinese, but the current textbooks and teaching tools of teaching Chinese as a foreign language in China and Chinese language classes are arranged for foreign students, without taking into account the needs of other groups, for example, the demand for Korean people who works in China. They work eight hours a day, do not have much time to learn Chinese, and many of them live in China with their family, and their spouses and children have different demands of learning Chinese. The method in which they use to learn Chinese, the learning effects, what is the impact on their work or life, what is instructive for the development of our current foreign language teaching and other issues has become the concern of the author.In this paper the by the methods of literature research, questionnaire survey method, interview method, classroom observation method and expert consultation method,the author were investigated the Chinese using and learning situation of Weihai Korean workers and their families.Survey results show that Korean workers and their families in Weihai are often requires to use Chinese in daily life and works, but their Chinese proficiency and the ability to use chinese are very different. In order to meet the needs of working, living or studying and other aspects, their Chinese learning demand is very strong, but it is difficult for them to find a suitable Chinese learning method, learning effect is also different.Through investigation and research, the author analyzes and summarizes the problems from the survey, and tries to find an effective way to solve the problem, and put forward the corresponding to different agencies and related personnel to improve teaching contents, teaching methods and teaching effect, make our job of teaching Chinese as a foreign language to meet the needs of different groups of Chinese learning, more effectively solve the problem they face. I hope that through this investigation and study, with the examples of weihai region, for our country’s institutions and teachers teaching Chinese as a foreign language to carry out the international promotion of Chinese language, teaching, achieve the ideal teaching effect to provide relevant reference. |
