This translation text is the excerpt from Project Management Best Practices:Achieving Global Excellence, the Third Edition written by Harold Kerzner, the world-class consultant and trainer of enterprises and multinational corporations in America. There are a large number of cases of the best practices of project management and illustrations of project management processes and methodologies in the text. The author has chosen the domestication method in translating, because this is an informative text, so the author pays more attention to the content but not the form of the text. In the translation, concise words are employed to present the same meaning as the source text. In order to realize that, the author uses skills of conversion of word classes, cutting long sentences into short ones, translating passive sentences into active sentences and readjusting the order of sentences. In the part of the case analysis, it mainly discusses and analyzes the text through lexical, syntactical and textual levels.The translation report contains four parts:the first part is the introduction to the translation project, including the source, the background and the meaning of the project; the second part mainly touches upon the project practice process, including the analysis of the project, preparation before translating, translation process and choice of translation tactics; the third part is the case analysis, and it discusses cases in terms of lexical, syntactical and textual levels; the fourth part is the conclusion of this translation practice project.
