Attachment is a individual’s emotional bond with some specific one.Although there was a history of the study of attachment in our country, but the methods focused on questionnaire and experimentation,and few articles used qualitative research. There were a large number of empirical studies on attachment theory applying in clinical practice overseas, while few in China. This article was a in-depth study on risk and protective factors which would influence the attachment security from the perspective of college student clients, and the effect of early attachment to parents on them. The purpose of this study was to provide theoretical reference for children’s education and college counseling.This research adopted the methods of qualitative analysis to sutdy 8 college student clients’ attachment to parents, interviewing them deeply with semistructured interview outline.The grounded theory was applied in this study to explore transcription of the interview materials using the qualitative analysis. The results were:(1) Psychological states of college student clients on early attachment to parents included the reconsitution and reproduction, inner emotional experience, coping strategies, and evaluation of adult experience in their early childhood memories.(2) The influence of early attachment to parents on college student clients included self-recognition, interpersonal model and defensive mechanism.(3) Factors that affected college student clients’ attachment security included characteristics of parents, their own characteristics, major life events.Conclusions:There were many risk factors affecting college student clients’ attachment security in their growth,which influencing each other and work together them.Also there were a lot of protective factors making college student clients advoding injury. However, college student clients’ mentalizing decided the effect of protective factors.
