The Research Of The Frank Discourse Markers | | Posted on:2017-02-12 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:Y T Chen | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2295330485466112 | Subject:Linguistics and Applied Linguistics | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | Based on the general definition and distinguishing of discourse markers in conversational analysis,This thesis adopts theories of Grammaticalization and Construction Grammar to analyze frank discourse frequently appeared in the Chinese dialect,focusing on its basic structure and components as well as its evolutionary approach and evolutionary motivations.This thesis can be divided into five chapters as follows:Chapter One mainly introduces the theories and methods used in this study.The Object and the significance of this research are also be presented in this chapter.Furthermore,this chapter makes clear the range and the boundary of discourse markers.Besides,previous studies are reviewed in this part.Chapter Two analyzes the main components of frank discourse marker.Starting from clarification of the concept and the range of negation.this chapter defined the meaning of the frank and divide the 11 discourse markers into 3 groups.then explored the position of the frank discourse marker and independence of them.Chapter Three firstly explored the functions in discourse combining its syntactic context and usage patterns.Chapter Four attempts to reconstruct the evolutionary approach of frank discourse markers according to the corpus of modern Chinese and ancient Chinese.Chapter Five is the conclusion and other discussions of this thesis.It summarizes the major findings and the limitations of this study.In addition,it puts forward suggestions for further study. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | discourse marker, frank, function, grammaticalization, subjectivity | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
