Compared to male writers, people always pay less attention to female writers. This thesis will study Shen Yixiu who is a noted female literator in late Ming Dynasty.Shen Yixiu named WanJun, her mother passed away when she was a little child. Later, she was married to Ye Shaoyuan, a member of the Ye family in Wu Jiang at 16, and had five daughters and eight sons. Shen dedicated herself to the literary creation and Li Chui is one of her works, including 634 poems. Besides, Shen made great efforts to collect other female writers’ literary works. The work Yi Ren Si is composed of 209 poems and essays by 46 female writers.This thesis expounds the poetic beauty of Shen Yixiu’s Li Chui(634 poems) from three parts.The introduction part introduces the reason and significance of choosing the topic of this essay and expounds its research status and research methods. The main part can be divided into three chapters. The first chapter introduces the life experience and family background of Shen Yixiu and the creation time and main content of Li Chui. In this way, the readers have a basic understanding of Shen Yixiu and its works. The second chapter is the significant part of this thesis: the study of the poetic beauty of Li Chui. At first, it introduces the poetic beauty from theoretic perspective and the writer’s own understanding of it. And then it studies the poetic beauty of Li Chui with examples from four aspects: the poem’s heart, the poem’s emotion, the poem’s artistic conception and the poetic interest. The third chapter introduces the poetic beauty of Li Chui from the perspective of academic value and charm of personality. The last part is a comprehensive conclusion of the whole thesis and states its purpose and value clearly.
