| This simulated interpreting report is based on the video clip of David Goldfield’s speech of Environmental Policy. This report analyzes and classifies the problems in the process of the simulated interpretation, and makes different countermeasures for certain problems. This report can be divided into three parts. Chapter one gives a brief description of simulated interpretation, including the background, preparation and introduction to the interpretation process. Chapter two is the analysis of source text involving the features of source text and possible difficulties of source text in interpretation; Chapter three, the most important part, describes the problems and relevant countermeasures, including difficulties in listening comprehension, inappropriate pauses and information loss. For different problems, the author gives relevant countermeasures, including top-down processing, systematic note-taking and shortterm memory training.Through overall analysis and conclusion of this interpretation process, the author summarizes the experience and lessons learned from this simulated interpretation. |
