Research On Lin Yutang’s Literary View

Lin Yutang entered the Chinese literary world in 1920s, is a famous writer of our country. He has the double education experience and life experience in China and the west, which lays the foundation for the formation of his literary views with distinct characteristics.The first chapter:To explore Lin Yutang’s view on literary creation. First of all, it explains Lin Yutang’s view on literary creation comes from life but higher than life. Secondly, from the static point of view, this paper discusses the environment and mood of Lin Yutang’s literary creation. Once again, Lin Yutang expounded in the process of literary creation on Application of "sensible" theory. Finally, Lin Yutang advocated expanding literary creation with this familiar style of space in literary creation.The second chapter:analyzes Lin Yutang’s view of literature appreciation. In his prose, Lin Yutang put forward that literature appreciation should pay more attention to "taste". He thought that the three levels of text should be understood when appreciating literary works, that is, the language, personality and ideology of the text. Based on the three levels of the Lin Yutang proposed reading is the key to the "taste". In addition, Lin Yutang also pointed out the need to pay attention to the recipient psychology of appreciation process, readers often subject to assimilation and adaptation of these two psychological activities in the process of reading and appreciation of the guide.In the third chapter:the function of Lin Yutang’s literary theory is studied. Involves two kinds of life attitude of Lin Yutang in real life and Leisure:Internalization on the humor of tragedy. Lin Yutang put the real life as the realization of the value of life means, let people enjoy life in the quiet. Lin Yutang’s sense of humor to dilute the tragedy in life, to show a light of happiness. Lin Yutang mainly through these two kinds of attitudes to the understanding of the function of literature.The fourth chapter discusses the reasons for the formation of the literary view of Lin Yutang. Lin Yutang under the influence of Christianity formed "new God" concept, puts forward the theory of "reasonableness" new humanism and Expressionism in the dual role. Lin Yutang was also influenced by Chinese traditional culture. Lin Yutang formed the attention emotion and personality characteristics conform to nature in the influence of Confucianism and taoism. Lin Yutang also accepted the Chinese traditional literary theory in the "emptiness" and "spiritual" proposition.
