The Study On Medical Treatment And Public Health Of Peiping During 1928-1937

Peiping special city was established in June 1928 by Nanjing National government. Although Peiping was not the capital any more, it still had its unique political economic status. The management of Peiping’s medical treatment and public health was better than some other domestic cities, and the measures and institution was more comparable and representative.During 1928-1937 the measures taken by National Government to manage medical treatment and public health in Peiping was positive. The National Government set up health institution and executive agency, and made a wider coverage of rules and regulations. The government took Institutionalized Management to manage the people who was practitioner in medical and health institution. Peiping also took charge of environment sanitation and food safety. The Peiping municipality stressed the importance of disease prevention and treatment, especially vaccination.The Peiping municipality established a series of professional school training of specialized medical and health care knowledge for practitioners, and checked their qualifications. Peiping also paid much attention to school health, trained basic knowledge of medical treatment and public health to teachers. Then it took charge of school health condition. In order to improve the public health awareness, informing the public about health, it passed out leaflets and put up posters.The Peiping municipality took measures to medical relief and medical compensation. These measures made contribution to the development of medical treatment and public health in our country.
